of Escher's artwork.
Part of a portfolio of 16 variations, this one is in the form of Islamic patterns
that Escher himself observed and sketched
on his visits to Alhambra palace in Granada in 1922 and 1936. The repeat patterns
of Islamic art
Influenced Escher's art and its development into a fascinating world of natural
forms in tiling compositions.
