Arrivals to Uzbekistan (Samarkand International Airport). Transfer
to 4-Star Afrosiyob Hotel. Dinner.

Registration of the participants at the Afrosiyob Hotel. Distribution
of the Conference material.
13.00-14.00 Lunch.
14.00-15.00 A guided tour of the International Museum of Peace
and Solidarity - Mr. Anatoly Ionesov, Museum Director.
15.00-18.30 Excursion. The Samarkand area - a sightseeing tour
by bus. Oriental bazaar.
19.00-20.00 Dinner.
20.00-22.00 Peace Museum Welcome Party with national music and
dances.
09.30-11.00 Day 3
Opening ceremony: objectives and programme presentation, welcoming
of the participants. Welcoming speeches: Khokim (Governor) of
the City of Samarkand; President of the Uzbekistan Academy of
Arts, Samarkand; Director of the International Museum of Peace
and Solidarity, Samarkand.
11.00-11.30 Coffee break.
11.30-13.00 Opening of the International Peace Calligraphy Exhibition.
13.00-14.00 Lunch.
15.00-18.00 Presentation of the Conference topic: "Calligraphy
as a Phenomenon of Art and Peacemaking". Discussion.
19.00-20.00 Dinner.
20.00-21.00 Lights and Sounds Performance "The Heart of Samarkand"
at the Registan Square or theatre performance.

Calligraphy Workshop.

Arts.

16.00-17.00 Guided tour of the Museum Department of Ancient Manuscripts.
Presentation: "Calligraphy in the History of Culture of Central
Asia". Discussion.

20.00-22.00 Folk concert.

Calligraphy Workshop.

15.00-16.30 Visit to the University Library. Guided tour of the
Department of Oriental Manuscripts. Discussion.

Handicraft Association.
