Arrivals to Uzbekistan (Samarkand International Airport). Transfer to 4-Star Afrosiyob Hotel. Dinner.

Registration of the participants at the Afrosiyob Hotel. Distribution of the Conference material.
14.00-15.00 A guided tour of the International Museum of Peace and Solidarity - Mr. Anatoly Ionesov, Museum Director.
15.00-18.30 Excursion. The Samarkand area - a sightseeing tour by bus. Oriental bazaar.
20.00-22.00 Peace Museum Welcome Party with national music and dances.
09.30-11.00 Day 3
Opening ceremony: objectives and programme presentation, welcoming of the participants. Welcoming speeches: Khokim (Governor) of the City of Samarkand; President of the Uzbekistan Academy of Arts, Samarkand; Director of the International Museum of Peace and Solidarity, Samarkand.
11.00-11.30 Coffee break.
11.30-13.00 Opening of the International Peace Calligraphy Exhibition.
15.00-18.00 Presentation of the Conference topic: "Calligraphy as a Phenomenon of Art and Peacemaking". Discussion.
20.00-21.00 Lights and Sounds Performance "The Heart of Samarkand" at the Registan Square or theatre performance.
09.30-12.00 Day 4
14.30-15.30 Visit to the Samarkand State Museum of Culture and Arts.
15.30-16.00 Coffee break.
16.00-17.00 Guided tour of the Museum Department of Ancient Manuscripts. Presentation: "Calligraphy in the History of Culture of Central Asia". Discussion.
20.00-22.00 Folk concert.
09.30-12.00 Day 5
15.00-16.30 Visit to the University Library. Guided tour of the Department of Oriental Manuscripts. Discussion.
09.30-12.00 Day 6
14.30-16.00 Meeting with craftsmen and artists at the "Meros" Handicraft Association.
16.00-17.30 Tasting of the best Uzbek wines.
19.00 Free evening.
10.00-12.00 Day 7
Conference evaluation. Closing session. Plans for the future.
14.30-16.00 Trip to the Islam al-Bukhary Mausoleum Complex (28 km from Samarkand).
20.00-22.00 Good-bye party with national music and dances.
09.00 Day 8
Departure for one-day trip to the mountains (50 km from Samarkand). Meeting with local craftsmen. Picnic in the mountains.
18.00 Return to the hotel.
